Adam and I met at our local gym, intrigued by his footwear, this conversation led to a collaborative vision to bring a collection of the RAT ASSED community outdoors for a product shoot that would bring like minded individuals together to curate a set of images to kick off the launch of the new RAT ASSED website. Allowing the customer to see where RAT ASSED can take them.
RAT ASSED is raising the game when it comes to ditching fast fashion, slowing down and embarking on doing business responsibly. Heavyweight, organic cotton garments with exceptional quality screen printing. Designs from local artists adds the finishing touch to a product that leaves you feeling good throughout it’s lifecycle. Unmatched fit and premium quality is backed by a 10% profit donation to clean up organisations across the UK. Almost sounds to good to be true? It’s not.
We based ourselves on a corner of the Ridgeway, nestled between an iron age hill fort and a white horse carved into the hillside. This provided us with a beautiful backdrop on which to capture the essence of the RAT ASSED brand and community it’s at the centre of. Unhindered by the weather, RAT ASSED on life and enjoying nature in it’s purest form. This set of individuals Adam pulled in revelled in the opportunity to be outdoors and amongst friends. On what was an incredibly cold day, much like you’d expect with it being mid-December, the crew rallied together to bring energy and excitement to the shoot.
In the spirit of doing less harm and more good, we finished up the shoot with a little trail clean just north of Hackpen car park. Removing a number of items that hadn’t found their way to recycle points. Removing single use pollution left us with a bittersweet taste in our mouths, having spent the day outdoors amongst friends it felt good to give something back to our environment though asking the question, ‘what more can we do?’. Adam has some big plans and ideas for the new year so keep your eyes peeled for community trail cleans and collaborations of all sorts.
